Romanian citizenship is obtained through: birth, adoption and granting on request.
Required documents
In order to obtain the citizenship, you will obtain an opinion which results in you being liable to apply for citizenship. Next we will prepare the file by procuring the necessary documents such as:
- passport, residence permit, the certificate from which the residence on the territory of Romania, declarations, documents of civil status, record.
- proof of housing: lease, commodity, sale-purchase contract
- proof of income: employment contract, income from commercial activities, balance sheet, GMS decision, ANAF certificate, pension heel
Procedure
Romanian citizenship is granted upon request to foreign persons or without citizenship if they fulfill certain conditions:
- was born in the territory of Romania, or is married to a person of Romanian citizenship, in the family tree there are relatives of Romanian citizenship, or has stayed on the territory of the country for 8 years respectively 5 years if he is married (with a person of Romanian citizenship) . These terms are halved if the applicant is: EU citizen, an internationally recognized personality, refugee or has invested in the country amounts in excess of 1,000,000 euros

- knows the anthem and the provisions of the Constitution
